Job Purpose

The role will be part of a team of 8 Financial Accountants and Assistant Financial Accountants.

Reporting to the Head of Partnership Finance and with a team of 2-3 Assistant Financial Accountants reporting directly to you, you will be responsible for assisting with, amongst others, the following tasks:

  • Management of a team of 2-3 Assistant Financial Accountants’ including performance reviews and day to day management;
  • Acting as the technical expertise, specifically on small company accounts, for the Commercial Team and other teams within the business
  • Reviewing and challenging Assistant Financial Accountants’ reconciliations and postings.
  • Reconciling key balance sheet accounts across JVCos
  • Managing audit process for the JVCos.
  • Working with the Support Office finance team to develop processes and to implement ‘best practice’.
  • Pro-actively developing and implementing internal controls and processes.
  • Implementing internal audit recommendations and supporting the internal audit process.
  • Managing stock count process across JVCos.
  • Investigating and responding to queries from the Commercial Finance team and other internal stakeholders.
  • High level reviews of general ledger balances.
  • Project work e.g. data migration.

 


 


Person Specification

Requirements for the Role

  • Qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA

  • Exposure within an accounts environment dealing with application of accounting standards;

  • Strong Excel skills are essential with knowledge of other MS Office applications;

  • Organised and proactive with good attention to detail;

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team meeting tight deadlines;

  • Strong focus on completion of tasks and the ability to see a task through;

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise competing deadlines.

Educational

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced Excel skills are essential, and knowledge of other MS Office applications is required

  • Ability to work at pace and have a high level of organisational skills

  • Be able to deliver a high level of customer service

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage strict deadlines

  • Line management of 2/3 individuals
