Surgery Information / Job Description

We are a busy, small animal practice based in the leafy suburb of Wimbledon and are looking for an enthusiastic and professional veterinary surgeon to join our team!

You will be joining a happy and supportive team of 1 Head Vet, 1 Behavioural Specialist, 2 veterinary care assistants and 2 receptionists. We are also currently recruiting for a talented registered veterinary nurse to join the team. We see a wide variety of cases including a higher than average number of rabbits and exotics and we take pride in working up cases to an extremely high standard.

We have a bright, air-conditioned surgery which is purpose built to industry leading standards and we have state of the art equipment including digital X-ray and in-house laboratory facilities. We are supportive of individual interests so if you have a particular area of interest, this could be the practice for you!

Person Specification

The ideal candidate to join our team will have good general surgical and medical skills and enjoy building relationships with patients and clients. Experience in emergency surgery would be an advantage but not essential and you will need to have a minimum of 2 years’ UK experience due to the element of sole charge.

We can consider full or part time hours with weekends on a rota basis. There will be some sole charge responsibility but no OOHs ensuring a healthy work/life balance.

In return, we offer:

  • Excellent career opportunities and development due to the varied case load
  • Competitive salary
  • Enhanced annual leave
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Generous CPD and funding of certificates for the right candidate
  • Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
  • Childcare vouchers
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards
