OOH VETERINARY SURGEON (Twilight Shift)

LEEDS BIRSTALL – WEST YORKSHIRE

 

Vets4Pets Leeds Birstall are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate Veterinary Surgeon to support the existing veterinary team with their complex case-load (increasing weekly)

Leeds Birstall is a modern and progressive veterinary practice, now in its 5th year of opening. The bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including dedicated operating theatre, digital X-ray/in-house laboratory/ultrasound facilities.

We are a lovely, friendly team with great communication, management, clinical support and we work to gold standard. We also offer a good work-life balance.  We are proud of our purpose built dental suite and we are an ISFM Gold Standard clinic and cattery.  We also provide OOH service for eleven Vets4Pets in the region (ECC, in-patient care and referral work standard.

This is a new role to support both the day and night vets working at Birstall. Twilight Vets would mainly be assisting with evening consults, admitting (and assessing) in-patient transfers from other V4P practices as well as assisting with emergencies that may come in during this time. There is scope in this role to increase hours (in the future) as the OOH service grows at Birstall,  as candidates would be working alongside the night vet up to 11 or 12pm

The role is part time (25 Hours) and the hours will be 6pm – 10pm shifts Mon-Fri).  There will be the Option to job share, taking any combination of 1 – 5 days shifts +/- weekends (as required). Open to a). Locum vets, offering permanent, regular shifts with pension, CPD & benefits, b). Back-to-work vets or those with parental commitments, and/or c). Those wishing to supplement existing part-time shifts elsewhere to help develop ECC experience.

Person Specification

You will be competent in surgery and consults. Candidates with keen interest in Medicine, those wishing to do a Medicine Certificate or Medicine Certificate holders also advantageous
